Developing core ideas that would benefit the Indian customer, has prompted the R&D Cell to constantly innovate and develop. Indeed the Cell also monitors global technological advances while evaluating the suitability of these to the India and the third-world.

The success of the SM Telesys R&D Cell can be gauged by the fact of having been recognized by the Department of Science & Technology (Govt. of India). The R&D Cell is currently developing a new telecom product with financial support by Department of Science and Industrial Research (DSIR) jointly with the Center for Development and Advancement of Computing (C-DAC).
